titleA Look At Career Choices In Nursing/titlecategory3/categoryThe sixties was an exciting time to live. Careers were a lot different back them also. For example you did not really see men working as nurses. That has changed significantly in the past several years with more and more men going on to become a nurse. On the flip side, more and more women are becoming doctors. With that in mind however, most nurses are still women and doctors men. Nowadays more and more folks are tired of their old jobs and want to change to a new career. Due to the healthcare demands many people are deciding to go into nursing. It seems like every week or so you read in the paper about how there is a nursing shortage. As a result a lot of people are likely trying to job on board. Who knows when it will flip to there no longer being a shortage of nurses due the aging population in general.
For those who do not want to spend a few years in college first but would like to become a nurse they could go to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to get their foot in the door. If they later decide to advance their career they could consider taking an a href=http://www.onlinelpntobsn.com/online lpn to bsn/a program. After that they may even consider an MSN program.
RNs who finished a nursing program and then later decided to return to school to advance their career will have some options also. One option would be to complete an a href=http://www.onlinerntobsn.com/RN to BSN online program/a. That would likely give them the chance to move into a management position someday.
The thing to remember is folks in the healthcare field have many different career options available to them. As far as the nursing shortage goes, no one really know for sure when it will end. Until it does nurses will likely have a good job waiting for them.
